15 Million Cedis Missing From NUGS Coffers

The incumbent Executive of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) led by Abdul-Hanan Prince Adams had admitted openly that its predecessor led by Edward Omane Boamah has not handed over ?15 million due it, as provided by the Union’s handing over constitution.

This admission apparently lends credence to allegations of financial impropriety on the part of Edward Omane Boamah and his team of executives during their tenure of office. This revelation was in response to a question at the Maiden press conference convened by the NUGS executive last week.

Abdul-Hanan stated that even though Edward Omane Boamah promised to hand over the amount, that has not been done. He debunked allegations that the current executive body has instituted investigations into the previous Executive’s finances.

The new president explained that as a matter of principle, audited accounts of the Union has to be presented to the Central committee for vetting, prior to handing over, a duty that has up to date, not been performed.

The Central Committee has accordingly directed that the Omane Boamah administration presents audited accounts of the Union within a month.
