Sierra Leone coach Sellas Tetteh says he is focused on qualifying his side for next year’s AFCON.
The qualification will become the Leone Stars first time in 20 years after participating in the 1996 edition which was hosted and won by South Africa.
Sierra Leone is currently in third place in Group I behind Gabon and Cote D’Ivoire, but Sellas Tetteh still believes his side can upset them to qualify.
“For more than 20 years Sierra Leon has not come so close to qualifying,” he said.
“Now the face of Sierra Leon football is now rebranded, repositioned and reidentified,” he added.
“We are almost on the verge of qualifying, and if by the grace of God, we try to qualify then we break the jinx of 20 years waiting.
“And definitely, we are on course. We shall see how it goes,” the former BlackSatellites head coach added.
Sierra Leone’s Group will play their last qualifier away to Cote d’ Ivoire.
