Kumasi, Oct 29, GNA - The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed shock at the news of the death of Prince Abdul Hanan Adams, President of National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) in a motor accident at Osino last Saturday. TESCON said though it was an inevitable event that everybody will depart this world for eternity, "however, the death of our brother was really untimely."

A statement signed by Mr Yussif Zakari, President, Samuel Owusu-Afriyie, Secretary and Eric Ofosu Nkansa, Financial Secretary on Wednesday said, "So bitter was the news that the entire membership of TESCON-KNUST could not hold back their shock upon hearing the news." It said as they sympathise and mourn with the entire student body and the bereaved family for their departed colleague, TESCON wished to urge all, especially the NUGS leadership, to hold high the dreams of the late president.

"We are aware of his efforts towards creating a unified bond among all the rank and file of the union. Even the indefatigable part he played in negotiating for better concessions for the Ghanaian student with the relevant stakeholders cannot pass without notice".

The statement urged the leadership of NUGS not to relent in their efforts at attaining the ultimate goal that TESCON noted were the dreams and aspirations of the departed NUGS president.

In a related development, TESCON has commended the government for its concern for the plight of Polytechnic teachers, saying that nothing could be more pleasant than what "the Kufuor led administration did".
