Akans therefore head many institutions in the VR, including Akans from outside the VR.
Then we have others who are of Akan and Ga-Adangbe origins who have been assimilated and use Ewe names or Akan or Ga names, who identify themselves with Ewes even though culturally they still have a high dose of Akan or Ga culture. That's the situation of many such people in the southern VR to Togo. So Ga descents in Togo celebrate Homowo instead of Ewe festival and still give Ga names to their children, just like many found among the foreign clans in Anlo. Some of these people are even high chiefs among us. The MP of Ketu South is Fiifii Kwetey and the MCE is called Lamptey. Are they Ewe names?
And there are many, many non-Northerners heading institutions in the North of Ghana.
