Disqualified presidential hopeful and flagbearer of the Independent People’s Party Kofi Akpaloo is heading to court to seek an injunction on processes leading to the conduct of this year’s polls.

The move follows his disqualification from this year’s presidential contest over his failure to meet set requirements in CI 94.

Three persons who endorsed the forms of the IPP flagbearer are said to have done same for another presidential nominee, contrary to provisions in the constitutional instrument hence his disqualification from the contest.

But Mr Akpaloo discounts the claim by the Electoral Commission saying the three subscribers who endorsed his presidential nomination forms did no such thing.

“If they have done something wrong they will not have come all the way from the Volta Region to answer to the police”

He says he will be seeking an injunction on the elections on Monday to revert the EC’s decision to bar him from contesting the elections.

“ Time is not on our side and we can’t wait on the police to finish with their investigation so we will proceed to court on Monday to place an injunction on the elections “

Kofi Akpaloo is one of thirteen persons disqualified from contesting for the presidential slot in the upcoming December elections.
