Ghana’s former Ambassador to the United State of America, Ambassador Daniel Ohene Agyekum, has said the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has the unenviable record of being the sole perpetrators of electoral violence in Ghana since the Fourth Republic in 1992.

He noted that the Danquah Bussia-Dombo – UP tradition has a long history being architects of violence in Ghana’s democratic dispensation.

Ambassador Ohene Agyekum who is currently, the Board Chairman of COCOBOD statement was triggered by verbal attacks launched on him by supporters of the NPP at Akyem Abekwaase in the Atiwa West Constituency at a funeral ahead of a rally organized by supporters of the NDC and Chiefs in the area to commend President John Mahama for constructing and alsphating the town roads for the first time, providing CHIPs Compound, Education infrastructure and other developmental projects in the area.

“In 1992, a member of our party was killed in Kwesimintim, in 1996 at Tafo when I was the Ashanti Regional Minister another person was killed in Kumasi, in 2000 an NDC activist was again murdered at Kaasi in Ashanti Region. Who’s more violent than than the NPP and its ancestors right from the days of Kwame Nkrumah till now. We’ll speak the truth…the violence in this country has been perpetrated by the NPP and its tradition UP PP, PFP all of them and now the NPP. See what they’ve done to Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong.”

The Chief for Akyem Abekwaase in the Eastern region,Nana Akroma Akyeampong II declared the support of the community to President John Dramani Mahama due to the developmental projects provided the community.
