I will never call Afia ugly.There are many aspects of her I find objectionable( or more like repulsive)but there are many other things I find amazing about her.For instance she is an open hearted woman who has adopted and is currently raising two kids.If you can tune out her loud and exaggerated pronouncements you will find a very tough, principled, fiercely loyal and a very brave woman who stands for her beliefs and fights to the end to protect them.She is also equipped with sharp instincts and wits which are forcefully presented with a rather rough tongue.Her rough tongue may not be a virtue to many but I personally do not see the difference between her and members of the British house of commons who cloak harsher provocations and insults in refined phrases.My point is I will rather have her in my corner than go against her.Yes we may need excellent role models like Ama K to show our young girls how to live gracefully but we equally need role models like Afia to show them how to live unapologetically on their own terms and fight for what you believe in.
