Twenty workers of the Castle Complex honoured for dedicated service

Accra, Dec. 30, GNA- Twenty workers at the Castle Complex were on Tuesday honoured for their dedicated service to the State at the President's End-Of-year party held at the Castle, Gardens in Accra. Mr Eric Baafi, a driver Grade Two of the Transport Unit was presented with a Special Award of Certificate of commendation for single-handedly putting out a fire that engulfed a section of the Castle on November 25, last year and saved property.

President John Agyekum Kufuor, who presented the Certificate to Mr Baafi also directed that he should be promoted for his selfless devotion to the State.


The other 19 workers, who received awards had served for 14-40 years and most of them were from the Household Unit. Seven cleaners of the Unit received a sewing machine, wax print and a certificate each.


They were Miss Mmarewolbug Kanei, Miss Elizabeth Kuru, Miss Grace Dowuona, Miss Dzongo Pugdegani, Mr Tetteh Sarko, Miss Dedei Aryee and Miss Mabel Oyoe Dickson.


Three from the Catering Unit were each presented with a 20-inch colour television set.

They were all Supervising Chief Stewards, Mr Lawrence Kwabena Safo Nyame, Mr James Cudjoe Onai and Mr Gben Zaskpaya.


Two other workers from the Transport Unit were also honoured, with 20 inch colour television set each, they were Mr Daniel Gyan Ansah and Mr Benjamin Kofi Amgmor both Senior Head Drivers.


Mr Charles Kessie, Supervising Caretaker and Mr Panzin Dunn, Senior Sanitary Foreman were each presented with a 20 inch colour television set, Mr Anum Laryea a Carpenter Foreman and Miss Charity Aku Agbemado, Assistant Chief Cook were each presented with a Table Top refrigerator. Others were Mr Francis Henry Agyemang-Dua, Deputy Controller and Mr Emmanuel Kwaku Charway, Supply Officer were each presented with a 20-inch colour television set and Mr Kwaku Ansah, a swimming pool attendant, who was presented with a bicycle, wax print and a certificate.
