Chief Executive officer of Wa All Stars, Oduro Nyarko has intimated that the Ghana Premier League could be delayed due to legal tussles following Dreams FC’s demotion to division one.

Tema Youth filed a case at the Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee against Dreams FC for fielding am unqualified player two seasons ago in the GN Division One League.

Nevertheless, the case was ruled in favour of Dreams FC by the FA Disciplinary Committee and later the Appeals Committee before Tema Youth presented their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The Appeals Committee were mandated by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to review the case, which they finally ruled, and Tema Youth were declared victors.

And just yesterday, president of the relegated New Edubiase United, Abdul Salam Yakubu threatened to place an injunction on the league, citing Dreams FC’s participation in last season’s league as invalid.

“This ruling could delay the league. I believe there could be more legal wrangling in the coming days because just like Abdul Salam is planning, the other relegated clubs could find reason with his intention and follow suit,” says Oduro Nyarko on Happy FM.
