Communications Minister, Edward Omane Boamah, caused a stir on Saturday when he inadvertently called on party supporters to vote for the elephant on December 7.
The minister committed the political suicide at Koforidua during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional rally, which attracted thousands of supporters .
"If we vote for all-die-be die, the country will go backwards… but due to the love we have for our country, we are going to cast a good ballot. This means we are going to vote for the elephant on the ballot paper," the minister confidently said.
The shocking aspect of the whole drama was that neither the minister nor party dignitaries noticed the political blunder, which will obviously be capitalized upon by their main political rival, the NPP with only three days to election.
