CPP Condemns NPP, NDC

The Convention People’s Party has called on leading figures in both the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress to desist from what they say are the irresponsible utterances that are stoking unnecessary pre-election tension in the country.

CPP Chairman Edmund Delle says utterances from leading figures of the two parties create an impression of chaos on our political scene and could have a destabilising effect on the average voter.

“The two parties should show restraint in their utterances and let us all build a strong democracy for our people.”

Delle said all Ghanaian political parties need to understand that democracy thrives when issues dominate discussions instead of sentiments. He said politicians should concentrate on issues rather than personalities and trivial issues.

“Sentiments that would create division and promote conflict should be avoided“, Delle said. The CPP leader said his party was in the face of all this, a good alternative for the Ghanaian voter in the coming elections.

The CPP leader is of the view that the economy is good “only when the ordinary Ghanaian’s pocket is good.”
