Cancellation Of Launch Of NHIS Anger Public
A last minute cancellation of the launch of National Health Insurance Scheme at the Nungua Traditional Council Park on Thursday has angered a number of members of the public who went there to witness the event.Members of the Diplomatic Corp notably the Korean and Chinese Embassy Officials got there only to be informed that the event had been cancelled without any tangible reason.
Media personnel who were not aware of the cancellation of the event were also stunned, at this development. Members of Parliament, Assembly members, Ministers of state and traditional leaders were not spared the lapses in communication between the Ministry of Health and the public.
Later, the Minister of Health, Dr. Kweku Afriyie described it as an unfortunate incident. According to him, a statement was issued late last night, but it did not get to most media houses.
