Maverick Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has indicated that his 10-days hunger strike pushed the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo into the Flagstaff House.

According to him, there was no way the President would have won the 2016 presidential elections if he had not prayed and fasted for him.

The Controversial Lawyer who embarked on a solo fasting for the President and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2016 electioneering indicated that he prayed fervently for the President after his two failed attempts to climb the presidency in 2008 and 2012.

Speaking with host of  Abusua FM’s Abusua Mmre Ekow Mankatah popularly called ‘Mr.Katah’, he said his hunger strike uprooted the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) party which was perceived to be freight with corruption, favouritism and insolence out of power.

‘My hunger strike made Nana Addo win power, the NPP should know my fasting with the help of God pushed them into power. The whole Ghana I am the only person whose hunger strike uproot Presidents.

God always listens to my hunger strikes, I warned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but they thought I was joking. They didn’t know what was in store for them, they lost miserably,’ he stated.

His hunger strike comes on the back of a pardon granted to the Montie trio by the former President John Dramani Mahama after they were incarcerated by the Supreme Court for threatening the lives of the Supreme and High Court Judges.

He described the former President as a ‘one-sided father’ who condoned crime and couldn’t have been a father for all citizens.

The Lawyer who couldn’t fathom why the President pardoned the trio said he resorted to drinking coconut water during the fasting.
