British Consultants And Trade Mission To Visit Ghana

The British High Commission in Accra has announced the visit to Ghana by British Consultants and Construction Bureau Trade(BCCB) mission with effect from tomorrow, and are expected to be in the country till 5th February,2004.

The (BCCB),which will be led by Mr Douglas Kerr will be accompanied by eight companies from various fields of endeavour.

These include manufacturers of specialist engineering products (fasteners, fittings and specialist turned parts), multinational companies in the automotive, aerospace, defence and medical industries.

Also on the mission will be multi-talented consultants, specialising in multi-disciplinary design services in architecture and engineering, interior designers, health planners and project managers.

The rest will be consultants in economic growth and private sector development, food security and the rural economy, good governance, policy and institutional development, as well as water resources and aquaculture.

According to the High Commission, the mission participants have a range of objectives including looking for local representatives and qualified distributors or agents in Ghana.

Others, the statement says, will be researching the market for the first time, while some will be creating awareness of their consultancy services and building on existing contacts in both government and private sectors, as well as looking to make new contacts.

The British Consultancy and Construction Bureau are reported to be the major British Trade Association promoting British expertise internationally. Their 300 membership covers all the major consulting and construction sectors.

The BCCB regularly organize seminars and trade missions with UK Trade & Investment, the British government body responsible for international trade and investment.

They do promote the creation of partnerships between their members and locally based associates around the world. A directory of members’ expertise is available on website www.bcb.org.uk.

UK Trade & Investment, the British Government’s Export promotion body is jointly funding the mission.
