Our thanks to Obrempong for a very exhaustive analysis of the context, using data, the kind of analysis we hardly find on Ghanaweb.
It is amazing Ghanaweb actually published the graphics because most of the time they simply delete them from a paper presented with graphics that make the paper stronger. (We hope this truly represents a change in policy).
READ: "...the free policy in education must happen because we can do it, but I think it is the technical institutions that must be given more priority than the general SHS system...".
WE SAY: Suppose, "we can do it" only by borrowing against the credit of future generations?
Should "we"?
As several of the other Akufo Add proposals, there is no internal logic to this one given all that Ghana needs to do for development in 2017, and beyond.
Where is the parsing and metrics to provide the soundness of the this free SHS idea?
Imagine, the "same free benefits" will go to the same highly paid officials who do not pay income taxes on their high incomes.

The advantage of general education is that by the time you are 18 years you can continue to persue any course in Science and Technology at the tertiary level. It's in the tertiary level that we need our best brains to persue scientific studies and research for development. All the Engineers,Scientists,Doctors and Researchers have general education background.
On the contrary, hardly a student from a technical school do become a research fellow. It will be fair to increase the intake for technical schools but that doesn't give you the reason to
rubbish Former President John Mahama's Policy to build 200 new SHS blocks.Honestly, some Technical schools and Vocational schools were captured in the Policy. If Ghana wants to develop faster then I think we must take Science and Technology very serious.
As for me,giving only free SHS education to our youth will not achieve the desired results.I'm saying this because with only SHS,you have not acquired any Professional knowledge to gain employment. On the other hand,I think the Ministry of education should design a Policy where clever students continue to study science and technology in the tertiary level. Then the average students go into different fields.
In conclusion, the idea of just pushing everybody into SHS without a proper objective is just waste of time.Thank you

Second our nation major problem is how we can perfectly interprate and understand our politicians massages to ourselves and the root is ignorance.

But Obrempong could've cut out all the appeals to the reader to bear with him. As a journalist you should've known better than that. For instance, the first two paragraphs should've been edited out.
Thank you.

I would have wish with respect to OBREPONG's write and Our President's Free SHS policy will make the general SHS 50% free, Technical SHS 100% free and 50% free Technical Tertiary education.
Ghana is overwhelmed with unemployment thus Graduate Unemployment Association of Ghana.....hmmm why such association?
Mr. President the good people of Ghana are behind you and such policy but please prioritise Technical education, Do not think of those who will make politics out of the changes you will make..
God bless Ghana,God bless you Mr. President
