Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a renowned International Evangelist, on Tuesday asked Ghanaians to strive to develop Ghana like Malaysia, Singapore and other contemporary countries.

“Although it is painful that countries that Ghana started within the 1960’s have made it to the top, Ghanaians should not rely on the gloom of the past, but should learn to build on the foundations laid by the founding fathers,” he told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra.

“Our national history is not all about gloom. We also had our glorious days as the first country South of the Sahara to gain independence on March 6, 1957.

“Ghanaians should not forget that their founding fathers fought and sacrificed many things for them that won them the admiration of people not just in Africa, but beyond, and we can build on their achievements,“ he added.

He said the responsibility lied on the citizenry to put Ghana on the level that they dreamt about through sacrifice and selflessness.

Dr Tetteh also an Economist, said it was the responsibility of successive leaders to help the current generation and those unborn to develop and build on the good legacies of our forefathers.

He noted that technically at 60 Ghana was on retirement from the Public Service, “but with the drive, determination, togetherness we can make Ghana achieve the dream that we envisage for”.

“With massive collective responsibility we can make our nation great and strong again as our founding fathers including our first president Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah achieved for us. “he said.
