My educational policy will revolve around teachers’ needs - Nana Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that his government’s educational policy will revolve around the needs and development of teachers.

The President was addressing participants at this year’s President’s Independence Day Award Ceremony.

60 students received the President’s Award for excelling in the 2015/2016 BECE examination.

The President added that teaching ought not to be seen as an unfulfilling job and a second option for those who go in the teaching profession.

EIB’s Wilberforce Asare reported that the President said teachers must be put first if the country desires to build an effective educational system adding that he will ensure that teachers’ welfare are taken care of.
