Pastor and two others in court over stolen car

Accra, Feb. 11, GNA - The Reverend Isaac Akwasi Owusu-Bempah, Founder of the End Time Power Ministries, on Tuesday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court with two others for dishonestly receiving a stolen Mercedes Benz car.

His accomplices, Buah Kingsley Ekow, 35, and Frank Kwame Adu 33, are both Businessmen.

Adu was additionally charged for forging and possessing official documents.

They pleaded not guilty.

The court sat over by Mr Williwise Kyeremeh admitted them to 200 million cedis bail with a surety each to reappear on February 25. Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr Paul K. Frimpong said somewhere in November 2002, the INTERPOL Unit of the Police at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters received information that a Mercedes Benz station wagon in the possession of Rev. Owusu Bempah was suspected to be a stolen car.

Prosecution said Rev Owusu-Bempah was subsequently arrested and the vehicle impounded after the Police confirmed the information that the car was a stolen on July 19 from Italy and it belonged to Scolari Giogio of Arezzo of Italy.

Investigation further revealed that Rev Owusu Bempah allegedly arranged with Buah to import the vehicle into the country and was later registered at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
