Deputy Minister of Mines returns from Hajj

Accra, Feb. 16, GNA - Dr Majid Haroun, deputy Minister of Mines, arrived in Accra this evening after leading a 9-member government delegation to attend this year's Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Dr Haroun told journalists on arrival that the pilgrimage as a success and said prayers were offered on behalf of the nation for its prosperity.

The deputy minister said he held a meeting with his Saudi Arabian counterpart on investment in Ghana, which mainly centred on the salt industry.


Dr Haroun said a result, the office of the deputy minister of mines of Saudi Arabia together with that of Ghana planed to hold two investor's conferences on Ghana in both Saudi Arabia and Ghana within six months.

Out of about 2000 people who attended this year's pilgrimage, five lost their lives due to natural causes. 17 Feb. 04 .
