Kosane (B/A), Feb 24, GNA - The Japanese Government would assist Ghana in the provision of educational infrastructure, such as classroom blocks and teachers' accommodation for rural schools, Mrs Kazuko Asai, Ambassador of Japan, has stated.
Mrs Kazuko Asai, who gave the assurance when she inaugurated a teachers' accommodation for the Local Authority Primary School at Kosane in the Dormaa District at the weekend, identified the shortage of teachers as a common problem facing most schools in the rural areas. She, therefore, appealed to teachers to accept postings to rural areas where their services would be of immense benefit to the people. She reminded teachers that their dedication and devotion to duty, especially in those deprived communities, would lead to the building of a great nation.
The Ambassador commended the people for their high sense of communal spirit and urged them to ensure the regular maintenance of the project so as to benefit generations to come.
