Ghanaian winger Solomon Asante came from the dug out to provide an assist in TP Mazembe’s 2-0 win over Algerian side J.S. Kabylie in the final play-off of the CA Confederation Cup.
Goals from Nathan Sinkala and Salif Coulibaly handed the former CAF Champions League winners a comfortable lead ahead of the second leg which comes off in a week in Algeria.
Asante who came from the bench in the second half for Adama Traore swiftly took on two defenders, turned them inside out and set up beautifully for Coulibaly who wasted no time in connecting to increase the tally for the home side.
The game which was hugely patronized by the massive Mazembe fans saw only Asante having a bit of the game out of the three Ghanaians currently at the club.
The two sides will lock horns at the Stade du Tizi-Ouzou in Algeria in the second leg of the competition.
