Kumasi, Feb 29, GNA - Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister, has expressed concern about false prophecies by some self-acclaimed men of God, crafted to defraud and dupe people of their wealth.
He said such false prophecies were on the ascendancy in recent times, and called on Church leaders to initiate measure to stop the practice if Christianity was to spread and gain root. Mr Boafo, who was speaking at the sixth graduation service of the Apostolic Church Bible College under theme: "Feed My Sheep", in Kumasi, asked Christians to be wary of the activities of charlatans and not to fall prey to false prophets.
He said priesthood was 'a calling' and therefore advised the youth who joined it for wealth to rethink their decision. He asked pastors to comport themselves to depict them as heads of 'the Church of Christ' and not engage in social vices such as visa and business deals.
Mr Boafo also urged them to propagate the message of Christ to remote areas where their services were needed most.
He appealed to Christians to participate in the country's electoral process and said the idea by some people that Christians could not indulge in politics had not Biblical basis.
"The church cannot be alienated from the state since every government decision affect Christians one way or the other," Mr Boafo said.
Apostle Joseph Anim, President of the Apostolic Church of Ghana, asked the mew pastors to be selfless, dedicated and committed to the work of God.
