The press conference held by the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday, 12 April at which they made a litany of allegations against the Akufo-Addo government, was just to let their supporters know that the party is still in a “comfortable lead,” Kamal-Deen Abdulai, National Coordinator of the Nasara Wing of the NPP has said.

“I couldn’t stop nodding in disgust,” he told Moro Awudu on Class91.3FM’s Executive Breakfast Show on Thursday, 13 April, adding: “What they did is just to tell their people that … they are still in a comfortable lead.”

“The NDC still wants to show to the world that they are in a comfortable lead when in fact they are not even in a comfortable lead. Your home is burning,” he added.

Among other things, the NDC, led by Chairman Kofi Portuphy accused the Akufo-Addo government of condoning thuggery, deceiving Ghanaians, and wantonly dismissing technocrats whose appointments had security of tenure.

The party said Ghanaians had regretted exchanging their colour TVs with black-and-white ones, since, in their view, the NPP is backtracking on all its promises.
