Lifeless body found on the streets of Anafo, a suburb of Mankessim
Residents of Anafo, a suburb of Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, are yet to recover from the shock of waking up yesterday morning to find the lifeless body of an unidentified man on their streets.
The deceased believed to be in his mid-thirties was found floating in a big gutter around the area late morning on Tuesday.
According to some eyewitnesses who spoke to Today they do not know him in the area and believe he is a stranger who had come to trade since the area is one of the major market centres in the country.
Some of them told Today that they saw the deceased early in the morning on that day behaving strangely and speaking a strange language only to later find his body floating in the gutter.
Some of them asserted that the deceased was mentally deranged due to his strange behaviour prior to his death.
There were no scars on his body and was appropriately dressed when found dead, signifying that he might have committed suicide by jumping into the big muddy gutter.
Meanwhile, the Mankessim Divisional Police has taken the body deposited it at the morgue.
