Speaker leaves for inauguration of Pan-African Parliament

Accra, March 15, GNA - Mr Peter Ala Adjetey, Speaker of Parliament on Sunday left Accra for Addis-Ababa as the Head of a Parliamentary Delegation to represent Ghana at the inauguration of the Pan-Africa Parliament in Addis-Ababa on Thursday, March 18.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, also left as the head of Ghana's Delegation to the Fourth Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Executive Council in Addis Ababa.


A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and signed by the Public Relations Officer, Mr Michael Ofori-Atta, said the Executive Council is meeting from Monday, March 15 to Tuesday, March 16 to prepare the grounds for the summit of the AU scheduled for the Ethiopian capital from July 5 to July 8.

The meeting would also put into operation the African peace and Security Council, which was established by the Maputo Summit last year. The two delegations would be away for six days.
