Government imposes curfew on Yendi District

Accra, March 26, GNA - The Government has imposed a curfew on the Yendi District with immediate effect. The curfew would start from 2000 hours to 0500 hours and would last for a period of seven days, initially.

A statement signed and issued by Mr Thomas Broni, Deputy Minister of the Interior, on Friday said; "in exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister responsible for the Interior by Section 4 (1) of the Public Order Act 1994 (Act 491), he has today 26th March, imposed a curfew on the Yendi District to forestall any incident resulting from recent developments in Yendi".

The statement advised the public to take note and cooperate with the Security Agencies in ensuring strict compliance.
