AGI lauds government for $15 billion Chinese deal

The $15 billion loan secured by the Ghanaian government from China to embark on massive transformational projects, is in line with the vision of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), it's leadership has revealed.

“The country needs industrialization and this really ties into the vision of this current government in trying to make sure that we revive and revamp industries in Ghana “, president of AGI, James Asare-Adjei pointed out.

“Hence, we in the private sector are in support of this initiative making sure that at least every district in the country will have at least one factory”, he added during an interview with Radio Ghana News.

“This is a happy moment for industrialization and the private sector in general in Ghana.It is a day boost of the economy”,

Mr. James Asare-Adjei who was part of the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s delegation to China also revealed plans by the government to get $15 billion loan/grant from the Chinese government singed off for the intended purposes.

“We talked about issues of democracy and stability and the fact that you are investing in Ghana, you are not looking at only twenty-eight million people. You are looking at over three hundred and fifty billion people in the entire sub-region. We presented Ghana to the Chinese government well”, he explained.
