If you care to respond, I would like to know what you think of the typical Ghanaian chief's performance in the area of what I call FAMILY INTEGRITY...the strength of the family unit and related institutions.
Some of Ghana's chiefs have excess libidos and this seems to interfere with their work as custodians of family integrity. This is why I asked the previous question. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Apostle Mawuetornam Dugbazah

The Seventeen Qualifications of a Bishop
It is written, "This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil" (1 Timothy 3:1-7 KJV).
Now, let us see if the learned, but ignorant attorney will repent of his sins and study the Word of God.
Sincerely,
Apostle Mawuetornam Dugbazah

Massa, respectfully, in articulating to many of us in these matters, you've got to have a certain measure of temperance, reflectiveness, ability to hold fire, etc. Sadly, for all it is worth, we do not see those in the Bishop's, em, the Apostle's response to our friend, Dr. SAS, Attorney at Law.
Your essay is a good piece - well written prose, we must say!
But, it is more a masquarade thrown to justify an archaic system that is totally incapable of modernizing itself because it is based on family relations/heritage. It is undemocratic. And you do not discuss why Ghanaians must invest in that type of index, Togbe's Index (TI), merely to prop-up a system designed for "subjects", vice citizens, who have with equal opportunity for the "throne".
Tell us about cases where chiefs are freely elected and we will grant you a big Attaboy!
Politicians control more. They are not helping or performing. Politicians control chiefs. Yet, we now must develop an index to measure the performance of chiefs who do not control police, health, education, infrastructure finance, politicians, etc.
We will hold our fire for now!
Peace

As well, you may do your own research regarding elders-council suffrage among Ghana's numerous kingmaker clans. I advise speaking to Togbe Tepre Hodo IV of Anfoega as he even has a legal background to go with his chieftaincy title.
Lastly, the least said about ignorant learned folks like...the better.
Sincerely,
Apostle Mawuetornam Dugbazah
