Gilbert Kwasi Mensah Addision, an Accountant on secondment at the Western Regional Office of the Nurses and Midwifery Council (NMC) is hot after an audit uncovered that he blew about GH¢115,882 in living a luxurious lifestyle.
The suspect, who is currently assisting police in their investigations, is reported to have confessed using the stated amount which belongs to the institution according to a Graphic Online report to build a garage, a living room and a store room among other expenses for his personal comfort.
It was revealed that Mr Addission was on secondment to the health institution from the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department but within between May 2013 and December 2014 used the period to allegedly embezzle funds under dubious means
The police have taken over investigations into the matter according to the Registrar of the Nurses and Midwifery Council, Mr Felix Nyanteh who told Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament.
