Guinness Ghana hits jack pot on stock market

Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited the leading total Beverage Business in the country with an outstanding collection and the only beverage business listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange hit a jack pot on the Stock Market with tremendous jump upwards.

Guinness Ghana climbed up by 3.6 per cent to close trading session at GHc1.45 per share, and the HFC Bank Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of Republic Bank Limited of Trinidad & Tobago, and one of the leading Universal Banking Institution in Ghana also took a giant step upward to 6.3 per cent to close the session at GHc0.85 per share.

Enterprise Group Limited (EGL) tagged as the oldest insurance company in Ghana, listed on GSE in 1991 as the first insurance company to be publicly listed in Ghana moved up by 2 per cent to end the day at GHc3.04 per share, Nordea Capital Investment Stock Market Expert observation of trading obtained by CDA Consult in Accra, on Friday revealed.

The Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP) a Ghanaian agribusiness firm dealing in the Oil Palm Plantation went up by 0.8 per cent to close trading at GHc5.25 per shares, and Fan Milk Limited a leading manufacturer of ice cream and yoghurt, and a significant player in the fruit drinks market also hit 0.8 per cent to close at GHc16.26.

Liquidity and turnover however dipped by 90.3 per cent and 86.8 per cent respectively compared to the previous session.

Trading activities was brisk on the bourse as five equities registered price changes with no loser; this helped the benchmark GSE-Composite Index which has been on a downward trend in previous sessions to rise by 0.4 per cent to close at 2,274.4 points.

The Nordea Income Growth Fund is priced at GHS 0.3352 with a Year-to-date return of 21.94 per cent.
