Suspend Wontumi for ‘flirting’ with NDC - Zuba

If Kwabena Agyei Agyapong was suspended from his position as General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for his association with members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), then the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP is also guilty of the same conduct.

The immediate past Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi, Akwasi Ofori Agyemang has therefore called for the head of Bernard Antwi Boasiako also known as Chairman Wontumi for being a friend of NDC members especially he [Akwasi Ofori Agyemang].

According to him, it is baseless for Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako to be kicking against the reinstatement of the embattled General Secretary of NPP, on allegation of he [Kwabena Agyapong] has friends in the opposition NDC.

“It falls flat on the logic that Kwabena Agyapong cannot be reinstated for having friends in the NDC”, the former MCE stated.

“If that is the logic, then Chairman Wontumi himself must be suspended because he is also my friend”, Hon. Akwasi Ofori Agyemang Boadi appealed to the NPP leadership.

The outspoken Regional chairman has said, Mr. Kwabena Agyapong cannot be reinstated to his former position in the party as General Secretary explaining that any attempt will be suicidal for its fortunes.

“It is will be wise politically to even bring the General Secretary of NDC to take a position in NPP than to reinstate Kwabena Agyei”, the outspoken and controversial Regional Chairman believes.

But on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, the NDC communicator also called for the impeachment of Chairman Wontumi.

“Chairman Wontumi is also my personal friend and even bought four tyres for the vehicle l am using”, Hon. Akwasi Agyemang Ofori revealed to the host Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin.

“What is good for the goose is also good for the gander…..if Kwabena Agyapong is on suspension for having friends in the NDC, Chairman Wontumi must also follow suit for being a friend of mine”, the aspiring NDC Ashanti Region Secretary stated.
