Ghana international, Solomon Asante, is confident his side can defend their CAF Confederation cup trophy ahead of their two legged clash with Super Sports United in the final lapse. The TP Mazembe midfield jewel remains hopeful his all conquering side will defend the trophy they won last season at the expense of the PSL side.
Solomon Asante, who has been an inspirational figure for the Lubumbashi based side, cited the collective hunger, mental attitude and the experienced nature of his side going into the crème de la crème. The former Berekum Chelsea attacker believes their hectic two week program in Rabat will also provide some needed tonic when they take on Super Sports United in the two legged final matches.
“We train twice a day to prepare physically, mentally and tactically for the final, we need to defend the trophy”, Solomon Asante told www.ghanacrusader.com.
The Black Stars attacker enjoyed a trophy ladden career in Lubumbashi since switching camp from Ghana premier league side, Berekum Chelsea FC. He and his team mates will have to avoid a heavy a heavy score line when they travel to South Africa on November 19, 2017 in the first leg of the CAF confederation cup ahead of the return leg in Lubumbashi.
