A Member of the NDC communications team, Sammy Gyamfi has charged the President to buy and wear shoes produced by DIHOC Footwear Division Limited (formerly Kumasi Shoe Factory).

He said the president has always encouraged citizens to patronize made in Ghana products, yet he is not cultivating the habit of making his appointees work towards his political will to sustain the local companies.

“The President should buy and wear shoes produced by DIHOC Footwear Division Limited (formerly Kumasi Shoe Factory) if he claims to promote made in Ghana products,” he said.

Sammy Gyamfi made these comments on UTV’s 'Adekye Nsroma' morning show discussion when issues of the state security agencies refusal to patronize boots and shoes produced by DIHOC Footwear Division Limited was raised for discussion.

This directive by the security agencies has negatively affected the operations of the company.

The NDC activist described the move by the security agencies as a “threat caused by this (NPP) government on any project embarked on by the previous (NDC) government.”

On his part former Member of Parliament for Bantama constituency, Henry Kwabena Kokofu said “it is not bad for this government to make known or account to citizens the exact state of economy the previous government left behind, which has been the cause of the numerous challenges facing the country currently”.

But he promised that this government will resolve the mess caused by the previous NDC government.
