Former Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association Randy Abbey has called on the President of the Association Kwesi Nyantakyi to quit after 2019.

Kwesi Nyatakyi, who doubles up as vice President of the Confederations of African Football (CAF) has been the head of Ghana Football for the past thirteen years

According to Randy Abbey, the host of Good Morning Ghana on Metro Tv, Kwesi Nyantakyi should step down in 2019 because he has nothing to offer Ghana Footbal.

“I do not think Kwesi Nyantakyi should contest for the GFA presidency in 2019. I don’t know what he would bring on board again. He must move on,” Abbey stated on Happy FM.

“Nyantakyi is progressing as a personality but retrogression in Ghana football term by term.”

Meanwhile, Kwesi Nyantakyi has stated his intentions of not seeking re-election in the past but nothing official has been made yet.

''Indeed, I have no plans to entrench myself in the position as it is a privileged post; at a point, I would have to leave and there is no better time to do so than when the applaud is very loud,'' Nyantakyi told the Graphic Sports.

''I don't think I'm the only person capable of leading Ghana football. I can do so much but not everything. Besides, I think we all must take a page from the wind of change blowing in FIFA on reforms which among things place a limit on the term of president.''

However, Randy Abbey has been tipped as one of the candidates to contest for the FA presidency in the next election.
