A 22-year-old driver’s mate died on Saturday afternoon in a gory accident at Tafo Mile 3 Area in Kumasi.

The deceased, identified as Kwaku Boadi, was hanging on the moving Urvan bus when his head accidentally got stuck to a parked DAF tipper truck.

The driver of the Urvan bus was not aware that Boadi’s head had been trapped by the tipper truck so he continued to move the vehicle.

In the process, the vehicle cut the head of the driver’s mate in the full glare of the public.

The sad incident occurred at Tafo Mile 3 Area, a densely populated suburb of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.

Passengers that were onboard the Asante Mampong to Kumasi-bound Urvan Bus, were astounded after they witnessed the horrific accident.

Some of the passengers quickly jumped through the windows of the Urvan bus which was filled with blood few minutes after the incident.

Richard Karikari aka ‘KK,’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oli-Best Road Safety Organization, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), also told DAILY GUIDE that the body of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue, pending autopsy.

KK said the Urvan Bus was from Asante Mampong and heading towards the Kejetia area.

Upon reaching Tafo Mile 3 Area, the driver initiated a curve towards the New Road Junction direction and Boadi was still hanging on the car.

He said head of Boadi, who was looking for passengers, accidentally got stuck to the tipper truck, which had been parked on the shoulder of the road.

KK said the said incident drew many curious people to the scene.

He admonished driver’s mates not to dangerously hang on moving vehicles in search of passengers.
