Unemployment is no excuse for him, a man who believes in defying the odds, breaking boundaries, shoving aside pride and getting what he wants in his very little way; Journalist Kontonmire as he calls himself is a trader who has through innovation created his own grocery shop on wheels and moves through the principal streets of Dansoman, marketing his goods to the public.

In today’s world where unemployment is on the rise, rendering a large number of the country’s youth idle and redundant, with a little innovation and a touch of humility he is making enough money to fend for himself and escape the shackles of joblessness.

Speaking to GHOne news, he explained that the name; ‘Journalist Kontonmire’ was informed by his belief in the fact that the plant Kontonmire represents humility coupled with the fact that journalists have to move from place to place to get the reports they want.

By bringing the market to the doorstep of the people, he believes he is making it easier for persons to purchase his goods thereby selling more than he ordinarily would have if he had a stationed shop.

“My name ‘Kontonmire’ signifies the humility in doing business and the fact that I draw my inspiration from God. The use of journalist is just a prefix. I’ve been doing this for a year and half”.

Journalist Kontonmire explains that his idea to begin the movable canopy with groceries stemmed from his experience with other traders. He decided to start this business after observing the stress both sellers and buyers go through in the open markets to market their products.
