David, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, was however remanded by the court to reappear on January 22, for ruling on a bail application by his counsel.

Detecting Chief Inspector of Police, Kofi Atimbire, prosecuting, told the court that the complainant, Awanka Amaali, is an Estate Agent who lives at Abeka, Mantseman is the father of the 15-year-old Junior High School victim.

David on the other hand is a 31 year-old Trader who lives at Abeka near de market.

He said the victim pays frequent visits to a friend who lives in the same vicinity with the accused and sometimes the victim runs errands for him.

In June 2017, the victim as usual visited her friend and David lured her into his room and had sexual intercourse with her. Since then, the accused has been having countless sex with her and sometimes keeps her in his room overnight.

According to the prosecution on January 5 this year, the victim left her house for reasons best known to her. David saw her around the neighbourhood, lured her into his room, and had sex with her.

He kept her in his room and they started cohabitating as husband and wife.

The Prosecution said the complainant and his family searched for the victim but to no avail until the complainant had a hint that the victim was living with the accused, but all efforts to trace her proved futile.

Mr Atimbire said subsequently the complainant reported the matter to the Accra Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit.

He said the ALFA SWAT Police Patrol Team, on January 13 traced and arrested David at Abeka. The victim was rescued, and handed over to the complainant.

He told the court that a medical report form was issued to the complainant to send the victim to a medical facility for examination, treatment and report.
