Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia showed his romantic side on 14 February, Valentine’s Day, when he surprised his wife, Samira, with a bouquet of red roses.

Shocked Samira could not hide her excitement as she accepted the gift sent by some delegates with smiles and shyness.

Valentine's Day, celebrated annually every 14 February, is recognised as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and romantic love in many regions around the world.

In Ghana, the day has been set aside as a National Chocolate Day where government encourages the citizenry to buy made in Ghana chocolate for their loved ones.
