Former Chairman of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) Kwame Jantuah, has called on the law enforcement agencies to enforced the road safety regulations and punish offenders.
According to him, this is one of the ways of dealing with avoidable road accidents that have killed several people in the country.
Mr Jantuah, who is also a member of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), noted that most drivers disregard road signs, others drive tired and also engage in excessive speeding.
His comments come in the wake of recent road accidents in some parts of the country including the one that occurred at Tantra Hill in Accra involving a 207 Benz bus in the early hours of Tuesday, 13 February 2018, killing eight persons.
Mr Jantuah said on TV3’s New Day programme on Saturday February 17 that : most drivers speed, others drive tired.”
“How many drivers know the road signs? I think enforcements of the laws on our roads can deal with this problem,” he said.
