President of the Forex Bureau Association of Ghana, Dr Kwesi Gyabaah, has called on all members of the association to be mindful of their own security at their various places of work.

According to him, although the Police are there to ensure safety, it is important for the workers to also ensure their own safety because security is a shared responsibility.

He has therefore asked members to fix Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in all their offices to help in investigations if robbery occurs in these offices.

His comment comes in the wake of the arrest of a group of nine suspected robbers by police in connection with raids at several forex bureau at Spintex in the Greater Accra region.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante Appeatu, during a speech at a forum organised by the American Chamber of Commerce Ghana, said “I can assure you that just yesterday [Monday], we arrested about nine people who have all confessed to the robberies on the Spintex road. This you did not know but this is what we have done on the back end and we have results,”

Speaking on this development in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of the Ghana Yensom show on Wednesday 28 February 2018, Dr Gyabaah said: “ We need to fix CCTV cameras in our various offices to assist the police in investigations if such incidence occur.

“Security is a shared responsibility, although the Police are there to provide us with security, we also need to take our personal security seriously
