Parliament will hold a symposium on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The symposium will mark 25 years of uninterrupted Parliamentary Democracy in Ghana, the first Parliament of the 4th Republic, having been inaugurated in January 1993.
The President of the Nigerian Senate, H.E Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki who is also the special guest of honour for the occasion, will deliver the keynote address on the topic: ‘The Future of Good Governance in Africa’. This will be preceded with a discussion on ‘the fourth Republican Parliament in Retrospect’.
The Vice President, Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia, Members of the Council of State, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Members of Parliament and members of the general public will attend the programme.
Other activities to mark the silver jubilee will include a media encounter with the Leadership of the House, a fitness walk and a public forum.
The celebration is yearlong programme.
