The two companies have signed an agreement to work together
The patronage of postal and courier services in Ghana could be soaring soon as customers are set to save money and time in their business transactions, thanks to a partnership between CourierPlus Services Limited and Priority Express Services.
The former, Nigerian-owned leading logistics and distribution Services Company has successfully wooed Priority Express Services from Ghana onto its network.
The two companies have agreed to collaborate and use their resources to expand existing courier services in Ghana and the rest of the countries in the sub-region.
Speaking after the two had signed an agreement to work together, Director in charge of International Business Development at CourierPlus, Adetutu Sanni was confident the partnership between the two companies will help both Nigerian Ghanaian customers.
“We have a lot of Nigerian and Ghanaian businesses that go on and we believe that it is better to have a direct connection rather than going through Europe before coming to Ghana. For our customers, they get the benefit of time and cost saving,” she indicated.
According to Ms Sanni, the motivation for the landmark partnership was the vision of CourierPlus to connect with the whole of Africa and the world at large.
CourierPlus has efficient, up-to-date infrastructure
CourierPlus was acquired by Superflux International Limited in 2012. The acquisition led to the upgrading of offerings and deliverables to customers using the most efficient and up-to-date infrastructure. Having been in the courier business since 2009, operating in across over 60 locations across Nigeria, with strong presence also in Kenya, CourierPlus is set to revolutionize the postal, courier and logistics distribution industry.
Priority Express ready to expand
General Manager of Ghanaian owned Priority Express Services, Mr David Opare described the deal as “a step in the right direction.”
“Our chief objective is to further expand our businesses through the enforcement of service standards which will enhance innovation, efficiency and accountability in service delivery,” Mr Opare stated in an interview with this paper.
According to him, Ghana and Nigeria are related by history, trade and traditions and the strategic partnership between the two companies “will greatly strengthen this bond and bring benefits to both countries.”
The signing ceremony, he indicated sends a very strong message about the commitment of Express Priority to provide valuable and exceptional courier services to its customers.
Regulator endorses partnership
Ghana’s Postal and Courier services Regulatory Commission which has for the past five years been promoting sub-regional cooperation, especially between Ghana and Nigeria endorsed the deal, vowing to assist the two companies to meet the expectations of their counterparts in Nigeria.
Director, Licensing and Regulations at the Commission, Mr John Otuteye told Business Finder his outfit had earlier on invited executives of the Association of Nigerian Courier Operators into Ghana to interact with their Ghanaian counterparts for exchange of ideas.
