Rotary Club donates to the Kotobabi Presby kindergarten & primary school

The Rotary Club Accra-East and its Partners-In-Service, on Wednesday 11th April 2018, donated educational and reading materials; wooden cupboards; veronica buckets and soap to the Kotobabi Presbyterian Kindergarten & Primary School.

The Circuit Supervisor, Mrs. Julie Honugah and the Headmaster, Mr. Alex Kofi Cooper received the donated items worth GH¢5,000 from Rotarian President Dinah Essilfie-Bondzie and members of the Rotary Club of Accra-East.

This donation was in line with Rotary International’s Theme for 2017-18, “Rotary: Making A Difference”, and also two of Rotary International's areas of focus, namely, Improving Basic Education & Literacy and Improving Water & Sanitation.

Members of the Rotary Club of Accra-East, Partners-In-Service and the teachers conducted reading sessions with the pupils and demonstrated proper hand-washing techniques.

The teachers and pupils were tasked to read and also practise good hand-washing techniques.

The Circuit Supervisor, Mrs. Julie Honugah expressed her appreciation to The Rotary Club Accra-East and promised to ensure that the items donated would be effectively utilised.

She also expressed her interest in collaborating with Rotary Clubs in Ghana to support other schools within her District.

The Rotary Club of Accra-East's Partners-In-Service present were the Rotaract Clubs of UPSA and Accra-East.

The Rotary Club of Accra East is one of the local branches of Rotary International: an international service organisation whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and to advance goodwill and peace around the world.

It is a non-political and non-sectarian organisation open to all people regardless of race, colour, creed, religion, gender, or political preference.

Over 34,000 member clubs exist worldwide with about 1.2 million individuals, referred to as Rotarians, as members.

The Rotary Club of Accra East is the first club in Ghana to attain full Paul Harris Fellowship status for all members.
