The sister of late legendary Hi-life singer, Jewel Ackah, has denied rumours that suggested that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Former President Mahama abandoned the singer in his dying moments.
The sister who was simply introduced as Auntie Mama, revealed that Former president John Mahama supported the highlife legend whiles he was on his sickbed.
Speaking in an interview on Takoradi based radio station, EmpireFM last Saturday, she showered praises on the former president saying,
“ May God bless him , since he got to know Jewel Ackah and they become friends, he supported him financially by sending him 2,000gh every month and even when Jewel was admitted at 37 Military hospital he came over to visit him on several occasions followed by a 10,000gh donation when he was discharged”
She also used the opportunity to thank New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Assin North, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong for supporting the family financially.
The late Ackah was a staunch supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), composing their famous party Anthem and many songs used by the party in its campaigns.
The veteran highlife musician passed on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the age of 68 after battling stroke and other sicknesses for the past 10 years.
