Dayspring Montessori International crowned winners of NCSQ 2018

Dayspring Montessori International School won the 2018 edition of the National Core Subjects Quiz (NCSQ) in the grand finale which was held on Friday, 4th May 2018 at the Mamprobi E. P. Church Basic School in Accra.

In attendance were students, teachers, and headteachers of the various schools that partook in this year's edition of the NCSQuiz competition as well as guests, media personnel, and the special guest. Mrs. Gladys Osman (Deputy Director of Programs - NCCE) shared wonderful words with all in attendance.

Dayspring Montessori International School emerged as winners for the second consecutive time of the National Core Subjects Quiz beating Val's Preparatory School. The quiz mistress, Miss Naa Ayikailey Tagoe scored 66 to 59 points for the winners to lift the trophy along with a GHC 1,000 cedis cheque.

The Special Guest for the day was Dr. Elsie Effah Kaufmann, the Quiz Mistress of the National Science and Maths Quiz - NSMQ, Senior Lecturer at the Biomedical Engineering department of the University of Ghana and also the first Female Golden Torch Award winner.

She provoked the thought processes of everyone, leaving them with assignments to be carried out even on exiting the venue to help them excellently soar higher above all limitations in life.

Miss Joana Asante, the representative of RMG Ghana Limited, proud sponsors of the quiz assured that in the coming years so much more will be done to catapult the NCSQ into a realm that will impact lives like never seen or heard before since this year's outcome has really made them proud.

The main set of awards to the finalists was specially presented by Dr. Elsie Effah Kaufmann who did so with great love and passion, hugging and joyfully celebrating these young ones for displaying their unique academic qualities. She added that, she is very expectant to meet most, if not all the contestants of the quiz at Senior High level where she will be their proud quiz mistress too.



The NCSQ is powered by Verbal Transformers, having Radio Gold 90.5FM and TOP TV as the official media partners and RMG Ghana Limited as the sponsors for the 2018 Edition.
