Kumasi Asante Kotoko's Yacouba Songne with some teammates
Sensational Kumasi Asante Kotoko forward Yacouba Songne has been voted the Club's player for the month of May following his impressive displays in the Ghana Premier League.
The Burkinabe import beat off competition from goalkeeper Felix Annan, defender Wahab Adams and winger Emmanuel Gyemfi after a polls conducted on Social Media. Yacouba pulled off 71% of the vote by the fans of the club.
Yacouba Songne has been in a stunning form, helping the Porcupines Warriors go on an impressive run of four games without a loss. He has scored three goals in the Zylofon Cash Premier League so far since joining the MTN FA Cup holders over the course of the summer.
The 26 year old was the hero as Kumasi Asante Kotoko ended the first round of the Ghana Premier League in style scoring a brace in the 2-1 victory over Champions Aduana Stars.
The Porcupine Warriors finished the first round in 6th position.
