Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, cousin of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and a powerful player without portfolio in the current government is on the collision course with the Chief Scribe of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu over the sack of the acting Communications Director of the party, Yaw Adomako Baafi.

Whereas the founder of Pro-NPP Danquah Institute has lauded the decision by the party’s hierarchy to fire Adomako Baafi who has failed to live up to expectation, Mr Boadu on Wednesday refuted the claim [Adomako Baafi] has been relieved of his duties at the Asylum Down Headquarters of the party.

To muddy the waters, Mr Yaw Adamoko Baafi was literally heard on various radio and television networks insisting he is still at post and discharging his duties as required rubbishing the dismissal claims.

Deep-throat sources, however, indicate to MyNewsGh.com that Mr Adomako Baafi was not officially appointed by the party as its Acting Communications Director and therefore firing him does not need to follow the needed protocols though we are unable to independently ascertain this.

According to our sources, Member of Parliament (MP) for Adenta and former Deputy Communications Director, Lawyer Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has been settled for the post and the decision is final.

As to whether Yaw Adomako Baafi was informed of the decision it added, is immaterial as this is an executive decision which is expected to be enforced to the latter.

Meanwhile, Otchere-Darko has already hailed the decision to appoint the lawmaker admitting a deficit in the party’s communications under the tenure of Mr Yaw Adomako Baafi.

He said in a Facebook post” Congrats to Yaw Buabeng Asamoah for your appointment as the new Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party. Clearly, there was a huge leadership vacuum in the ruling party’s communication machinery and we are all happy to hear that Chairman Blay, General John Boadu and the team have acted accordingly”.
