Accra, Nov. 12, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday congratulated Muslims for the successful end of the Ramadan fast. "It is most refreshing that Almighty Allah has been able to provide Muslims with the necessary strength, determination and will power that has enabled them to go through the difficult but important period of fasting, which no doubt enhanced their spiritual development for the glory of Allah," it said in a statement signed by Dr Nii Josiah-Aryeh. The NDC said the occasion itself epitomizes man's selflessness and humility in the service of his creator.

"The NDC is of the view that the important lessons to be learnt from Eid-Ul-Fitr should not be lost, even as Muslims celebrate the joy of their return to usual life."

Muslims would celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr on Saturday to mark the end of a month-long fast.

The NDC said it recognized the immense contributions Muslims had made to the progress and development of mankind. "The NDC urges Muslims to use the Eid -Ul-Fitr celebration to pray for peace before, during and after the upcoming general polls."
