... Print out leaked by Graphic workers
... Daily Graphic Editor Bashes Palaver Editor

The editor of the state owned Daily Graphic, Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo has denied that the paper officially has something to do with a printout that suggests what the front page of the national daily will look on December 8th, a day after general elections.

The print out portrays incumbent President Kufuor with outstretched arms showing the victory sign and obviously celebrating an electoral victory.

It?s accompanied by supporting headlines, which lead readers on to inside pages where they can find information on the full election results, with the NDC?s candidate conceding defeat to the incumbent candidate and World leaders congratulating Mr. Kufuor for his victory.

The Ghana Palaver published the printout today and questioned the neutrality of Graphic?s editor Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo.

The paper also claimed that the print out was leaked to it by Graphic workers who had been angered by moves to turn the national daily into a propaganda broadsheet and mouthpiece of the NPP.

Mr. Ayeboafo has rubbished these.

The Palaver in relation to the printout suggested that the Daily Graphic is biased and has been turned into a propaganda material for the ruling NPP.

But speaking on Joy FM?s Super Morning Show, the editor Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo said the printout was a normal creative piece put together by a graphic designer who works for the national daily.

According to him, graphic designers are freely allowed to experiment as this enhances their creativity adding that he did not see anything wrong with it as long as it has not been published.

He dismissed comments that the publication portrayed the paper as an NPP mouthpiece.

Reacting to the explanation given the by editor of the Daily Graphic, The Palaver?s Acting editor, Ekow Essuman said the paper still stands by it?s claim that the national daily has become the mouthpiece of the ruling party.

He also dismissed the excuses offered.
