The Minister for Special Development Initiatives, Hon.Mavis Hawa Koomson - the MP, together with the Deputy CEO of the Coastal Development Authority in charge of Central Region, Mr. Emmanuel Affram Anim, cut the sod for the construction of a multi-purpose durbar grounds for the Chief and People of Awutu Senya East constituency at Ofankor.

The chief and elders of the community who joined the dignitaries in the rather short sod-cutting ceremony, expressed their gratefulness and appreciation to Minister, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson for delivering her promise.

In addition, the community also gets to benefit from a bridge under construction at Yehowa Adom electoral area on the Asempa Down road which will create a well spaced out road for the safety and convenience of residents living around the area.

"This will be a big relief to us as we can now park our vehicles in our own homes; before this, for so many years we park in neighbours houses or by the street and use the footbridge to access our own homes. We are very grateful to the MP and Minister Hon. Hawa for this project” a resident commented.

The project, forms part of the IPEP (Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Program) implemented by the Coastal Development Authority under the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives.

This forms part of the bottom-up approach from the community needs assessment programs under the one (1) million per Constituency promise made by the President Nana Addo during the 2016 campaign.

The constituency is benefiting from the projects under the first part of the IPEP implementation program, where the ministry is constructing 1000 Solar-powered mechanized boreholes with submissive pump water facilities across the country under the Water For All program, there is also the construction of another 1000 institutionalized 10- seater toilet facility with solar-powered mechanized borehole and a bio-digester which is meant to automatically convert the toilet waste to gas for domestic use under the Sanitation For All program.
